Ag BMP Loan Program
The Agriculture Best Management Practice (BMP) Loan Program, is a state program that is implemented by the SWCD office to assist landowners and operators with a 3% low interest loan for:
- Feedlot improvements, manure storage basins, and spreading equipment
- Conservation tillage equipment
- Terraces, waterways, sediment basins
- Shore and riverbank stabilization
- Septic systems
- Other projects that improve water quality
Loan terms are:
- Maximum loan amount is $200,000
- Maximum loan length is 10 years
- Maximum interest rate is 3%
- Lender may charge customary fees and may require collateral
- Borrower must meet lending criteria
- Additional local limitations may apply
